The project is part of an international competition organised by Decathlon. The project had the rethink the Decathlon store of the future. Here is our proposal : BUT WHO ARE THE CUSTOMERS? The CONNOISSEUR He is a regular customer who has already experienced the quality of DECATHLON and knows what he wants. In this situation, he gets straight to the point. That's why we have created a CLICK-TEST&COLLECT space that allows him to come to a cabin directly accessible from the Ground Floor to pick up his purchase. The TESTER He comes to test a product, taking advantage of all the play areas offered by the new generation DECATHLON INFINITE store. Thanks to the different weather conditions and topographies of the project, he tries the product in real situations and can buy it directly once convinced. The WANDERER Curious, he comes to discover DECATHLON products and immerse himself in a joyful and sporty atmosphere. He has full access to the entire project and can be tempted at any time and become a tester! ALL TOGETHER HEY, HEY! A path for everyone. While the Connoisseur quickly retrieves his purchase on the Ground Floor, the other two profiles are guided to the top of the project. There are no stairs here; the store is a topography in itself. However, there are two intertwining paths. The first is dedicated to the Wanderer, with a gentle slope, and the second is steeper, offering more challenge for the Tester! EFFICIENT DISTRIBUTION: The main idea of our proposal is to completely abstract the concept of traditional shelving and focus on the practice of sports, equipped with DECATHLON products! To do this, the project includes a large storage space underground, providing all the brand's products. Then, a system of robotic lockers supplies any floor of the store on demand. The interface is provided through private fitting rooms. There are ground-floor cabins with direct access for CLICK-TEST&COLLECT, as well as cabins throughout the journey up to the rooftop. 2017 – 2026 The current DECATHLON store allows customers to see existing products and sometimes even test them, but the conditions are not optimal. The 2026 store is an artificial topography, an immense playground suitable for leisure and testing numerous DECATHLON products. The project consists of different spaces that allow testing products in real or simulated conditions, including augmented reality rooms. EASY BUY Let's get to know each other: When a visitor passes under the store's netting, they are automatically scanned in three dimensions. Their experience is personalized, and the products presented to them are optimized to their size. All the information in your pocket: The DECATHLON INFINITE mobile application compiles all the customer's preferred product information to simplify testing and purchasing. The history allows visualizing viewed, tested, and purchased products along with all the characteristics (size, price, etc.). We can already see ourselves! Thanks to the visitor's geolocation and knowledge of their measurements, advertisements are personalized throughout the journey, allowing them to see themselves in situations with DECATHLON products. Virtual reality or real virtuality? The project alternates between two very distinct types of spaces: Spaces that make you feel in the middle of nature and follow the seasons. Virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) spaces in controlled climatic conditions to test products in real conditions. A constant slope connects all spaces, allowing sports to be practiced everywhere. SITE SELECTION Vancouver is a city with an impressive number of sports activities available throughout the seasons. Here, the environment is not a problem as there are activities for all circumstances. The project takes advantage of this diversity of climate to offer evolving testing spaces based on weather and seasons. DECATHLON is establishing itself in Canada
