Throughout his three years as a computational design lead for Kai Tak, as part of Populous, Brice played a crucial role in every stage of the project's design, with a particular focus on modelling the form of the roof and facade envelope. Despite the design's elegance and minimal concept, the geometry was complex and algorithm-driven to ensure rationality and cost-effectiveness. While involved in the bid, Brice's work truly shone after the win, as he and his team dedicated themselves to optimizing buildability and reducing costs. As a result of their hard work, the roof's height was reduced by three meters, and the facade area was decreased while strengthening the design intent. Brice also made sure to prioritize the buildability of the facade and its 27,000 triangle panels. To facilitate this, he developed a customized algorithm that allowed for quick testing of various options, ultimately giving the senior management team at Populous greater control over the project's visual outcome.
